Dr. Fleischer-Black trained in Emergency Medicine at NYU/ Bellevue before working at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital. In 2012, right in time for Hurricane Sandy, she began working as faulty at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, where she remains. During her time at Mount Sinai, she initiated and completed the first part-time, competency-based Hospice and Palliative Medicine fellowship in the Brookdale Department of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at Mount Sinai. She holds facilty appointments as Asssociate Professor in the both the Department of Emergency Medicine and the Department of Geriatric and Palliative Medicine. She serves as the Medical Director of Geriatrics and Palliative Emergency Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. She loves to read sci-fi, mysteries and knit.
