Emergency Physician
Johns Hopkins
Ijamsville, Maryland
Dr. Lemon attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine and stayed for the Emergency Medicine & Pediatrics residency. Like all providers practicing during COVID-19, Dr. Lemon witnessed health care struggle under the pressure of the pandemic. Recurrent waves of sustained stress demonstrated the vulnerability of our system. Dr. Lemon recognized that the catastrophes from the looming climate crisis such as extreme weather events, vector-borne disease spread, drought and population migration, will continue to threaten our patients, as well as our ability to care for them. In 2022, he joined the faculty at Johns Hopkins and pivoted his professional focus to the intersection of climate change and emergency medicine. His interests include climate curriculum for medical students and residents, as well as engaging all providers to identify local solutions to help the health care sector "go green". His wife is also in health care and together, they are trying to do their part to create a more sustainable future for their four small children.
