In this discussion session, we plan to provide perspectives from residents, fellows, and attendings on resident unionization. Attendees can expect to walk away with a balanced education on the role of resident unions. Trainees will take away the background and skills to better evaluate whether resident unionization is right for them, their coresidents, and their hospital system. Attendings will take away a better understanding of why residents may be pursuing unionization, the pros and cons with which to advise their trainees, and a greater understanding of the role unionization has for future EM physician wellness and advocacy.
