This presentation is dedicated to dermatologic presentations on skin of color in the emergency department. We will briefly explore how our medical education system teaches us about skin pathology, identify important clinical features, and discuss the racial health disparities created when a dermatologic diagnosis is delayed or missed. Visual diagnosis resources will be provided as well.

Recognize hyperpigmentation as an inflammatory sign in darker skin
Identify acral lentiginous melanoma on physical exam
Describe the racial disparities in disease severity and outcomes for common skin conditions
