Alina Mitina is an Emergency Medicine Resident working at St. John’s Riverside in Yonkers, New York. She graduated summa cum laude from California State University Channel Islands then she continued to Western University of Health Sciences for medical school. Alina immigrated to America from Ukraine with her mother when she was seven years old and has discovered that through Emergency Medicine she can integrate her passions for teaching, diverse community outreach, and serving as a frontline doctor. She is an active participant in The Society of Academic Emergency Medicine interests groups on education and research. She is the resident representative for The American Academy for Emergency Medicine. Alina is also a social media content creator for multiple organizations, creates lectures on ultrasound for multiple medical schools, and coordinates the Morbidity and Mortality lectures for her residency program. After residency, she hopes to pursue an ultrasound fellowship and continue teaching throughout her future medical career trajectory. When not working at the hospital she is long distance running with The Central Park Running Club, engaging with her followers on social media, and exploring New York City with her fiancé.
