Dr. Beatrice Hoffmann is the Emergency Ultrasound Division Director at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School.
She has authored over 100 manuscripts and book chapters on the topic of emergency ultrasound, lectured at over 100 national and international venues on 5 continents, and held several national and international society positions. She was the founder and editor of the educational emergency ultrasound website, www.sonoguide.com, for which she received the national ACEP Ultrasound Section Award in 2008. She is the founding president of the Academy of Emergency Ultrasound of the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine, which promotes education and research in emergency ultrasound. Beatrice was elected a corresponding member of the German Society of Ultrasound in Medicine (DEGUM), the largest diagnostic ultrasound society in Europe, and is a member of the EuSEM Task force on Curriculum development in POCUS. She is also the chair of the IFEM ultrasound Interest group.
