Your unconscious patient who was found down has a medical alert bracelet with the terrifying message, “hemophilia A.” How much of what factor are you supposed to order? What if they have hemophilia B? Do you have to order factor even if they aren’t bleeding? What do you do if you run out of factor specific to the type of hemophilia, or if your facility doesn’t carry that? We will dive into these questions and more so that you can roll with the punches the next time you run into the bleeding hemophiliac.
