Who Is Going to Die Next? Navigating the Physician Triage Shift to Save Lives and Your Sanity

No nurses and no inpatients beds means that ED boarding times have soared and patients are in the waiting room for hours or even days.
Some departments have instituted shifts where a physician is in triage. But what happens when you have a dozen 'sick' patients
in the waiting room, no beds in which to place them, and not enough nurses to provide timely care? This scenario is becoming much more common and a reasonable argument could be made that the triage physician is now the most important physician in the ED during busy times.
Through this 20 minute track session I will use my extensive triage experience and a case based approach to highlight strategies that will
assist any physician in the triage 'thunderdome.'
