Numerous Justice, Equity and Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) based initiatives have been launched, nurtured and researched over the years in academic and non academic EM. This topic has also been studied and researched extensively recently and some very varied and controversial conclusions have been drawn. This session will present some of the most contemporary and controversial portions of that literature and discuss this further with key national, institutional and organizational speakers in a focused pro-con debate.
Learning Objectives:
What are the key principles of the JEDI initiative?
What is the core and contemporary literature on the topic?
What are the areas of controversy as they pertain to the EM physician and how do we address these challenges in the everyday setting of the academic/non-academic ED?
