Patients with substance abuse will share their stories of active addiction and road to recovery. An inside view of the Peer Recovery Specialist and patient relationship will be presented. Let the patients be the teacher and learn from their healthcare experiences.

Learning Objectives:

  • Develop a meaningful approach to patients who present to any Emergency Department with substance abuse
  • Recognize patient's healthcare experiences can have a lasting impact on their recovery
  • Recognize the invaluable contribution of Peer Recovery Specialists in the multidisciplinary care team and their influence on patients health
